Event Trail Rides

The 108 ATV Club is currently preparing multiple trail ride options that will be offered during the 2026 ATVBC AGM & Jamboree.

Note: In preparation for the upcoming ATVBC AGM & Jamboree we would like to remind everyone who might want to ride into 100 Mile House that you will need to request, in advance, a free permit from the RCMP.  Details on applying (including the form) can be found at:  ORV Access to 100 Mile House – 108 ATV Club

The following are the current descriptions of our planned trail rides:

#1 – GRST SOUTH — 70 MILE HOUSE & WILDFIRE COUNTRY

Departure: 8:30 AM   Radio Frequency: RR# 3 (Frequency 150.14)
Technical Level:  Low-Moderate / Expected Speed/Length: Brisk pace – 7–9 hours (~160 km)

Our big Ride.

We’ll travel on and off the Gold Rush Snowmobile Trail through the 2021 Flat Lake wildfire area and toward areas affected by the 2026 Pear Lake wildfire — an incredible opportunity to see both wildfire devastation and forest recovery firsthand.

Lunch at the Sugar Shack!

We’ll stop for lunch at the Sugar Shack in 70 Mile House, so please bring some money and come hungry!

The Sugar Shack went above and beyond during this summer’s wildfires — feeding firefighters, supporting emergency crews and giving generously to help protect and support their community.

Now it’s our turn to show them some appreciation. Let’s support a local business that did so much for its community when it mattered most.

This is a long backcountry riding day, so everyone should still pack snacks and plenty of drinks to carry with them.

Come with a full tank of fuel and be ready to cover some ground.

This one’s for the riders who came to RIDE!

#2 – HELENA LAKE & GRST NORTH

Departure: 8:45 AM    Radio Frequency: RR# 6 (Frequency 150.245)
Technical Level: Low- Moderate / Expected Speed/Length: Moderate – approximately 6-8 hours (100+ km)

This is a must-do Cariboo ride!

We’ll follow the Gold Rush Snowmobile Trail (GRST) out to beautiful Helena Lake, travelling past small lakes, along lesser-travelled FSRs and through classic Cariboo forest trails.

And yes — we’re going to get a little wet and muddy! That’s part of what we came for!

On the return trip, the adventure gets even better. We’ll leave the more travelled route behind and explore lesser-used trails and several loops, adding variety and some fun technical riding.

Along the way are a couple of slower technical challenges best tackled in 2-wheel-drive low range — nothing rushed, just some great opportunities to use your machine and your riding skills.

We’ll also travel through portions of the 2017 100 Mile House wildfire area and see firsthand how the forest has regenerated nearly a decade later.

Mud, water, lakes, backcountry trails, technical sections and plenty of exploring — this one should be on every rider’s must-do list!

🌲 3. GUSTAFSON, BOAR & WHALE LAKES

Departure: 9:00 AM   Radio Frequency: RR# 9 (Frequency 150.365)

Technical Level: Easy / Expected Speed/Length:  Moderate – 6–8 hrs (~90–120 km)

Beautiful Cariboo lake country!

We’ll travel toward Gustafson Lake, with side adventures toward Boar Lake, Whale Lake and Holden Lake.

The Gustafson Lake meadows and surrounding country are breathtaking. Depending on the group and available time, we may even extend the adventure toward Snag Lake.

Gustafson Lake also has a remarkable place in Canadian history.

✈️ 4. THE 1965 CP AIR FLIGHT 21 CRASH SITE

Departure: 9:15 AM   Radio Frequency: RR# 12  (Frequency 150.5)

Technical Level: Easy  / Expected Speed/Length:  Moderate – Approx. 5-6 hrs

History, mystery and backcountry riding all in one!

We’ll travel past Holden Lake and several smaller Cariboo lakes toward the remote crash site of Canadian Pacific Air Lines Flight 21.

We’ll park the machines and walk approximately 1–1.5 km to the aircraft tail section, then return by some quieter fenceline and backcountry trails — with the occasional deactivation trench to keep things interesting!

This is one worth reading about before you ride it.

Want to slow things down for a day?

We’ll follow portions of the GRST toward beautiful Valentine and Edmonds Lakes, with forest trails, open country, some powerline riding and a few rocky sections just to keep things interesting.

A great choice for riders who enjoy sightseeing, visiting and taking their time.

Relax, enjoy the lakes and take in the South Cariboo.

That’s right — we’re riding our ORVs legally into 100 Mile House for ice cream! 🍦

Groups of approximately 20 machines will depart at staggered intervals beginning around 12:30 PM, with everyone back by approximately 5:30 PM.

Then it’s time for pizza dinner at 6:00 PM! 🍕

⚠️ IMPORTANT: You will need your RCMP operating permit and qualifying $2 million liability insurance for this ride.

Please get your permit organized before the Jamboree. Everything you need to know is here:

Note: For those that don’t want to ride into 100 Mile House, we are considering also offering ride # 5. VALENTINE & EDMONDS LAKES on Saturday afternoon.

🔎 SUNDAY — THE MYSTERY RIDE!

Staggered departures beginning around 9:30 AM | Approx. 5–6 hrs

We’re not telling you exactly where you’re going.

That would ruin the fun!

We’ll head on and off the GRST, following backroads and some of the less-travelled trails of the South Cariboo in search of clues along the way.

Expect some laughs, exploring, friendly competition and a few surprises.

Bring your machine. Bring your friends. Bring your detective skills.

And no, we’re not giving you an Explore Before You Ride link for this one.

That would be cheating! 😎
